I'd recommend going over to Yahoogroups and joining up with the Handicats group, the owners there are knowledgeable and many are dealing with IBD in their cats. You'd get honest answers.

I have had two foster cats with IBD. In one case, a grain-free all canned diet did wonders for the cat. I fed her Innova's EVO, and as long as she stayed on that, her episodes were minimal. She needs the occasional treatment with a round of steroids, but that only occurs once or twice a year.

Another cat could not tolerate canned in any form, for reasons no one clearly understood. And she's been to many vets, it's not an issue of one vet not being able to fix the problem. She can eat dry only, and eats the EVO dry. While this flies in the face of what you would expect to work, it does in fact work for this particular cat. She can also eat - for unknown reasons - California Natural Chicken and Rice dry.

IBD is not clearly understood. With many cats, it's a trial and error to see what they can eat, and what they cannot eat. The first thing of course is to eliminate any corn, by-products, dyes, preservatives, and so forth. Minimal or no grain, canned preferably. Streroids aren't good for cats, but they do have their uses - short term. A round of them can really settle down the digestive tract, and relieve that explosive darrhea that they can get. A vet who wants to try a round of steroids to settle the system is totally different than a vet who uses them long term and without trying other things first.

Good luck with her - it *is* a manageble issue, but it may take a while to find out just how to do that.

It could be that you have a polyp or hard stool in your rectum causing your stool to flatten as it exits. If it does not get better I would definately call a doctor.

Hypnotherapy has been widely used for several medical problems, such as diabetes care, pain management, reduction of bleeding in haemophiliacs, to reduce asthma and hay fever attacks, and irritable bowel syndrome. People have also used hypnotherapy for phobias, addictions and self esteem issues.
Hypnotherapy has been shown to help with psychological issues, especailly when combined with cognitive behavioral therapy.

Could be a virus or a touch of minor food poisoning. Also the brain and the gut are extremely connected so worrying about digestive problems can make them worse and one person having something can be easily mimicked by someone else. IBS does not appear to have an organic cause so it is highly unlikely that it is genetic

I don't know what the medical problem is but the real problem here is your unwillingness to go to the doctor. Someone on the internet can give you a guess at the name of a problem but that won't solve anything. Only a doctor can examine you and give you a certain solution and certainly only a doctor can help you or prescrible you the correct medicine. SEE A DOCTOR!!! No more excuses!
